Dr.
K.K. Jindal did his M.Sc.
and Ph.D. from IARI, New Delhi
in Horticulture with Pomology
as specialization. He was awarded
Gold Medal for his excellence
in Ph.D. Programme by ICAR. He
was Post-doctoral Fellow at the
Royal Veterinary and Agriculture
University, Copenhagen, Denmark
during 1972-74, and Visiting Scientist
at Botanical Institute, University
of Stockholm, Sweden during 1974-76.
Dr. Jindal also served as ADG
(Horticulture) in ICAR, New Delhi
for one and half years. Besides,
he was FAO and UNDP Fellow to
Italy and USA. Dr. Jindal has
over 160 papers and four books
to his credit. He was awarded
INSA Fellowship in 1994 to visit
SIPP, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
He is a widely travelled person
(over 16 countries) for attending
various meetings and workshops.
The International Society for
Horticultural Science awarded
ISHS medal to Dr. Jindal in recognition
of his meritorious service to
the Society as convenor of the
VII International ISHS Symposium
on Temperate Zone Fruits for the
Tropics and Subtropics duirng
