Prof.
B.P. Kamboj is among
the leading figures in the field
of art and art-education in India.
After teaching for forty years
in the Agra University, he retired
as the Head of the Department
of Fine Art. He also remained
the Dean of the Faculty of Fine
Art in that university. Subsequently,
he remained the Secretary of the
Lalit Kala Aka-demi at New Delhi
for four years. Prof. Kamboj has
been a member of various expert
committees of Indian universi-ties,
academies, Government of India,
Rashtrapati Bhawan, etc., some
of which he headed. For his services
in the field of art, he has been
honoured by various organisations.
Prof. Kamboj has participated
in a number of seminars and workshops
at regional, national and international
levels. He also remained an U.G.C.
Fellow at the Indira Kala-Sangeet
University, Khairagarh (M.P.)
and the Kumaon University, Nainital.
He also has been the resource
person for many refresher courses
conducted by diffe-rent universities
for university and college teachers
of art. He has also contributed
some papers and chapters to various
books. The present volume is the
result of his pioneering research
and study in the unexplored area
of Garhwal painting. |
