In
the recent years, major thrust is being given at all
levels for increasing the production of high value
cash crops such as vegetables, ornamentals and mushrooms.
The increasing demand for better quality vegetables
free of chemical residue, flowers and mushrooms has
remained unsatisfied and expected to continue to expand.
One of the quickest ways of increasing the horticultural
production is to harness the higher yields through
better disease management strategies.
Information on diseases of vegetables, ornamentals
and mushrooms is scattered in many research papers,
reviews, bulletins and books. Thus, the present book
Diseases of Horticultural Crops: Vegetables, Ornamentals
and Mushrooms fills the needs to have in one volume
information on etiology, symptomatology, epidemiology
and management of diseases affecting these crops.
The information contained in this volume will be an
asset to researchers, teachers and students working
on diseases of vegetables, ornamentals and mushrooms.
The information is also useful for extension workers,
quarantine officials, commercial vegetables, flower
and mushroom growers. The book will also be an asset
for seed and mushroom industry
