The

Prof.
B.G. Tamaskar has put in more than 30 years of meritorious
services in the educational and academic fields in
various positions and has gained long, varied and
mature experience in research activities and guidance
to researchers, and active participation in many conferences
on Geography and History. He was honoured by an assignment
of the University Grants Commission during 1975 to
1980.
He has to his credit more than 100 articles in Geography
and History, and publications on Hindi Terms for
Topographical Maps of the Survey of India, Rural and
Urban Land Use, Geographical Interpretation of Indian
Topographical Maps, The Life and Work of Malik Amber,
Contributions to Historical Geography of India, and
Geographical Mosaic on the Periodic Exchange System
and Network.
He is at present the Hony. President,
Indian Institute of Geography, Secunderabad; President
of the Maharashtra Bhugol Shastra Parishad, Pune,
and holds several positions of distinctions in several
other learned bodies.
