Dr.
C. Nunthara is Reader and Head of the Department of
Sociology, North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong.
Born on 12th November 1944 in Mizoram, he had his college
education from St. Anthony's College in Shillong, his
Master and Doctorate Degree from Department of Sociology,
Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University. His field
of interest includes Political Sociology, Social Change,
and Emerging Social Inequality and Ethnicity in north-east
India, the areas in which he has written seminar papers
and articles for reputed journals and books.
Dr. C. Nunthara is also the author of the book Impact
of the Introduction of Grouping of Villages in Mizoram,
highlighting the nature of regrouping of villages in
Mizoram as a counter-insurgency measure and the social
and economic consequences of the scheme.
