This book is an attempt to study the origin and growth of Christianity in Tripura. It basically deals with the coming of Christianity in Tripura before and after the coming of the New Zealand Baptist Missionary Society in 1938. Practically nothing has so far been written about Christianity in Tripura. In fact, this subject has not attracted the attention of the scholars and writers.
This work will throw light about Christianity especially about the works and contributions made by the New Zealand Baptist Missionary Society in different fields.

Sukhendu Debbarma was born at Chandi-Thakur Para, West Tripura, on 26th January 1969. He graduated with Honours in History from St. Anthony's College, Shillong in 1989 and obtained Masters Degree in History in 1991 from North Eastern Hill University, Shillong. He qualified U.G.C. test for National Eligibility Test for Fellowship and Lecturer-ship in 1992 and worked as a Research Scholar. Shri Debbarma was awarded M.Phil from the same University for his research work. He also did B.Ed. from Post-Graduate Training College, Shillong, Meghalaya.
At present Shri Debbarma is serving as a Lecturer, Department of History, Tripura University, Agartala, Tripura.
